Björn Engholm, Jörn Thießen and Anika Pahlke talk about democracy and cohesion
The candidate for the SPD state parliament for Lauenburg-Süd, Anika Pahlke, is on Saturday 2 April from 15 to 16:30 with Björn Engholm, former prime minister and Jörn Thießen, head of the Department of Homeland, Defensive Democracy and Cohesion in the Federal Ministry of the Interior, talking on Democracy and Cohesion. Lights out to protect the climate and the environment ”is the motto again on Saturday 26 March. Because then the WWF asks for the so-called Earth Hour. The lights must go out in as many private homes, public buildings, corporate offices and places of interest around the world for 60 minutes: the city of Geesthacht also participates and sets an example for environmental protection and nature conservation. From 8.30 pm the lights of the Krügersches Haus, the harbor bridge and the town hall of the city on the Elbe will be switched off. In addition, the municipal companies and the municipal works of Geesthacht will participate in the campaign with their buildings in Mercatorstrasse. “Spring is coming”
With clearly visible signs but also, depending on the species, inconspicuous, spring is coming to us in the north. The biologist Dr. On Sunday 27 March, at 10 am, Friedhelm Ringe and the participants will wander through the Besenhorster Sandberge and show, as it were, in the round, the flowers and herbs that are now sprouting from the ground, including the features of the bushes and trees. The fee is 5 euros, members and children free. The meeting point is the car park next to the mixing plant in Geesthacht.
On Sunday 10th April, at 2.30pm, admission from 2pm, bingo will be played again at AWO Treff Keil 11. Both members and non-members are welcome. As always, the helpers ensure a nice atmosphere with coffee and cake. Access to AWO Treff takes place according to the then applicable Corona rules. The general hygiene rules must also be observed.
New course offers at VfL from April
VfL Geesthacht starts in April with an extensive program of courses for members and external people. It is now possible to book course offers such as aqua fitness, cross training, Feldenkrais, fitness boxing, preventive sports, yoga and many more. breakfast at the kTS cinema
After two good years since the last breakfast at the cinema, it’s that time again. The breakfast buffet will be set up again in the foyer on March 27th. At 10.30 the rich buffet will be open. As always, plenty of coffee, tea, juice and mineral water. The movie “Death on the Nile” starts at 12:00. New library opening hours
With the new replacement legislation, 3G control at the entrance to the library is no longer necessary. From 7 March the Geesthacht Municipal Library will reopen at its normal opening hours.
Mon + Fri 10:00 – 16:00
Tuesday + Thursday from 10:00 to 19:00
Sat 10:00 – 13:00
It is also necessary to wear medical protection for the mouth and nose. Children under the age of 6 are excluded. Visitors are always up to date via Instagram, Facebook, the online catalog or the homepage.
Office hours of the disabled person
Evamaria Neelsen, the city of Geesthacht’s Disability Officer, answers questions at Markt 5-7 every fourth Wednesday and every fourth Thursday of the month. The two-hour consultation starts at 10:00 on Wednesdays and at 14:30 on Thursdays.
