NUERTINGEN. For twelve years there has been a working group on climate protection at the Fritz Ruoff School on the Säer. Yesterday the school received a plaque from the ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) school network in recognition of its climate protection activities.
The two project officers of the climate protection working group at the Fritz Ruoff School, Rena Junginger and Manfried Dürr, had invited to the event, which took place in the form of a presentation of the working group’s activities. Two students presented the three ongoing projects “Setting up an Instagram channel”, “Building a tower for insects” and “Visiting the photovoltaic plant of the nearby school”. Junginger and Dürr also examined other measures such as “a system for waste separation and energy saving in the classroom”, “collection campaigns for old mobile phones”, “Lego design for the planned Nürtingen Bahnstadt” and “planting trees of walnuts in front of the school building ».
Subject teacher Wolfram Fuchs gave a lecture on the topic of climate change and sustainability. The pupils presented the results of their mini-study “Future Forum for Social Sciences”.
In various workshops, 50 specialists of the Fritz Ruoff School have acquired the qualification “The climate experts”. “We want to prepare them to work on the future of our world,” said Principal Stefan Kleiner. Great challenges can only be tackled together.
