Moenchengladbach Rheydt’s LVR clinic also advertises the program, which can give participants 600 euros per month. Until interested parties can apply.
A loan of 600 euros per month – which is a very useful extra income during your studies. Medical students can receive such support as fellows from the Rhineland Regional Association (LVR). The LVR-Klinik-Start program makes this possible. It is aimed at medical students interested in psychiatry and who have already completed the Physics course.
The network of clinics run by the Rhineland Regional Association would like to use the program to promote young medical professionals and at the same time convince them to its large specialist psychiatry clinics in the Rhineland. “We are convinced that starting professional life will be easier this way,” says Stephan Rinckens, medical director of the LVR clinic on Heinrich-Pesch-Strasse in Rheydt.
The currently around 70 fellows in the current initial funding phase can learn about the fields of psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychosomatics in the regional association’s clinics, for example during internships. And they should also have the opportunity to deepen their psychiatric knowledge in specialist seminars and conferences in the LVR Clinical Network. Additional offerings such as a mentoring program, internships, exam coaching, or support with a PhD project complete the program.
According to the regional association, the monthly financial support based on a loan of 600 euros ends with the degree or at the latest after four years. After completing their studies, the participants apparently have a good chance of being employed in an LVR clinic. In the past, more than half of the fellows stayed at LVR clinics after their studies. In such cases, they take over the reimbursement for the duration of the employment relationship.
On June 1, 2022, the LVR-Klinik-Start funding program will enter its next round. Interested medical students can apply by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) until April 30, 2022.
