Pina Bausch scholarship for dance and choreography

There are no age limits or concept specifics: those participating in the Pina Bausch Fellowship can develop their style with an international cooperation partner.

(ped) Develop your artistic signature – without the pressure of having to present a finished concept or realize a theatrical project – and all without age limits: this is the opportunity that a scholarship offers to dancers, choreographers and choreographers of Krefeld. You can apply for the Pina Bausch Fellowship for Dance and Choreography until March 31, 2022.

This year, the scholarship supports a wide range of cooperation formats: they can be implemented on-site, internationally or locally, hybrid or virtual. The Pina Bausch Fellowship is a joint program of the Kunststiftung NRW and the Pina Bausch Foundation and will be awarded for the seventh time in 2022.

The aim of the scholarship is to support creative people in the field of dance and choreography in developing their own artistic expression by enabling them to work with an international cooperation partner of their choice. “The scholarship is characterized by its openness: it is not a scholarship, it is not aimed at the development of a show and has no age limits. By offering various formats of cooperation, the scholarship adapts to the individual needs and interests of applicants, ”the announcement states.

This scholarship aims to offer the freedom to design suitable cooperation formats that help participants develop their unique artistic signature. This year, applicants can also choose between a full-time scholarship (21 hours per week) and a part-time scholarship (20 hours per week or less).

The duration depends on the custom format, but must be between 5 September 2022 and 31 August 2023. Full-time scholarships are funded with 2,500 euros per month, part-time scholarships with 1,000 euros per month. Each scholarship format is designed independently by applicants and their cooperation partners.

The fellows are selected by an international jury.
