The Bruchsal landmark celebrates its anniversary from 23 to 29 May with a varied program and many offers and surprises for all visitors.
300 years ago, on May 27, 1722, the Prince Bishop of Speyer, Damian Hugo von Schönborn (1676–1743), laid the foundation stone for his new residence in Bruchsal. From 23 to 29 May 2022 we will celebrate the 300th anniversary of the castle with you as part of a week of festivities.
A varied program, a hands-on children’s program, culinary delights and more await visitors. Anyone who has always wanted to know the historical landmark of Bruchsal or experience it in a very special way should come and celebrate.

For the 300th anniversary of Bruchsal Castle, visitors can discover special offers and enjoy different programs. This includes:

The Bruchsal Palace will only open its gates during the anniversary week from Monday 23 May and Wednesday 25 May to Friday 27 May 2022 from 10:00 to 17:00. Special tours through the castle and the castle garden show the highlights of the ancient residence.
Participation in guided tours is included in the day ticket. Every day, guests can expect a special “cultural treat” – let them surprise you.
Regional crafts, delicacies, children’s program and more
From Thursday 26 May to Sunday 29 May 2022, the Palaces and State Gardens of Baden-Württemberg invite you to the “Palace Market” in the courtyard from 12:00 to 19:00: regional crafts and culinary delicacies from salty to sweet can be found in white pagoda tents: four days an irresistible invitation to stroll and enjoy the courtyard.
Two days of celebration with free admission to the castle: the great anniversary party will make the castle and its surroundings shine on 28 and 29 May from 10.00 to 18.00. During these two days you will meet noble ladies and gentlemen of the prince-bishop’s court, who invite you to participate, play and dance together.
ELMO, the Bruchsal play mobile, awaits you in the castle garden with a variety of play and exercise equipment for children and teenagers, as well as various painting and craft activities, face painting and fairy tale readings. Clown Betty, songwriter and candy juggler, and magical duo Luca and Benji with their unique balloons and magical abilities round out the outdoor festival.
A reading room with deck chairs offers the opportunity for a short break. A swing quartet will ensure a good mood on both days. Sensational images can be taken on the throne of the golden castle – the appropriate memory.
