If you have a head for heights, there are impressive high-rise hotels around the world that offer you spectacular views. There you can leave everyday life behind, spend the night at gigantic heights and enjoy the view above the clouds in the morning.
Statistics site Statista lists the ten tallest hotels in the world – and it goes up to 630 meters high! We will show you.
1. The J Hotel in the Shanghai Tower
Recently, this giant tops the list of tallest hotels in the world: the J Hotel is located in the 632-meter-high Shanghai Tower, the second tallest building in the world. By the way, the tallest skyscraper is Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, 828 meters high, if you want to stop too.

You have to climb a total of 128 floors until you reach the J Hotel. There you can, as far as your wallet allows, choose from 165 rooms and 34 suites. Impressive foresight doesn’t come cheap – according to the hotel’s website, you need to plan at least 4180 euros for one night. Then you should also visit the 360 ° restaurant on the 120th floor – from there you have the best view of the Pudong district in Shanghai.
2. JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Dubai
Topping the list of tallest hotels at 355 meters, Dubai’s JW Marriott Matquis Hotel, the first of two towers opened in 2012 and has quickly established itself as a popular five-star hotel with modern design. Especially passing businessmen or couples check-in regularly.

The two towers offer 1608 rooms and you have a wide choice of 14 different restaurants where you want to dine. Also impressive is a wellness area and a total of 8,000 square meters of event space. The absolute highlight, however, is the outdoor swimming pool, from which you can take in the spectacular view of Dubai’s towering skyscrapers while taking a bath.
3. Park Hyatt Shanghai
The Park Hyatt Shanghai at first glance creates a bit of confusion: it is located in the Shanghai World Financial Center, 492 meters high, and would therefore be the second tallest hotel in the world.
But: The hotel itself is only located on the 79th to 93rd floors of the gigantic building. However, it offers its guests spectacular views, such as the Huangpu River and Pudong District. Also, right next door is the Shanghai Tower with what is now the tallest hotel in the world: the J Hotel.
The Park Hyatt is located in the Shanghai World Financial Center on the Huangpu River.
The Park Hyatt offers a total of 179 rooms, a swimming pool to relax and a fitness room to better climb the daily stairs – alternatively there is of course also an elevator.

4.Rose Rayhann of Rotana, Dubai
The Rose Rayhann of Rotana in Dubai stands 333 meters high. There you will find 462 suites and rooms on 72 floors, which are modern but rather simply furnished. You feel like you are floating above the clouds when you visit the roof terrace with swimming pool, where you can enjoy the beautiful view.

5. Ritz Carlton, Hong Kong
Have a cocktail at 490 meters? You can do this at the Ritz Carlton in Hong Kong. The hotel bar is located at the top of the International Commerce Center, although it only occupies the top 17 floors of the building.

6. The Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Thailand
In Thailand you will find the Baiyoke Sky Hotel at an altitude of 309 meters. The clear advantage of this hotel: it is much cheaper than its big competitors. However, it is not as luxuriously equipped. Still, it’s worth it, even for the viewing platform on the 84th floor. From there you have a unique panoramic view of Bangkok’s Phatum Wan district.

There are 88 floors in total. On the 81st floor is the highest open-air restaurant in the country, which also offers great views over the city.
7. Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou, China
The Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou is located in the Chinese city of Guangzhou in the International Finance Center, which rises a total of 438.6 meters, but only between the 74th and 98th floors. The building has a total of 103 floors. The view from the fish restaurant on the 100th floor is particularly impressive. There is a sky lobby with an observation deck for visitors.

There are 374 rooms to choose from – a special highlight are the curved floor-to-ceiling windows, which offer particularly beautiful views of Guangzhou. In addition to restaurants and fitness centers, there is a specially equipped helipad on the roof of the hotel if the climb is too high for you.
8. 85 Sky Tower Hotel, Taiwan
The 700-room 85 Sky Tower Hotel sits on the throne of Taiwan near Kaohsiung’s New Bay Area. The entire building, which rises 85 floors into the sky, measures a whopping 250 meters.

The view from the View Deck, which awaits your visit on the 74th floor, is particularly beautiful. Culinary delights from Japan and China await you on the 77th floor, where you can choose from several restaurants.
9. Grand Hyatt, Shanghai
Shanghai’s Jin Mao Tower rises majestically 420 meters into the air. From the 53rd to 87th floors is the Grand Hyatt Hotel. There you are spoiled for choice among 548 elegantly furnished rooms and suites. A highlight is the lobby:

At 230 meters, the Residence Inn is the tallest hotel in New York City. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning views of the bustling city from the rooms.

The hotel opened in 2013 and is just a few minutes’ walk from beautiful Central Park. You can also visit Rockefeller Center or Times Square.
