A whole range of European countries have interesting holiday destinations in store. A look at three variations offers clear evidence of how diverse and contrasting vacation spots in Europe are.

Excursions in Germany – Discover the nature of the Federal Republic

First of all, there is the possibility of spending a holiday in Germany. The main advantages here are the often very short journey to get there and the low bureaucratic and organizational effort.

A hiking holiday is ideal for getting to know the beautiful sides of the regions of the Federal Republic a little better. Exercise and fresh air certainly provide balance for many people and are healthy too. Areas in Germany that are ideal for such an excursion include:

  • the Allgäu,
  • The Black Forest,
  • the Thuringian Forest,
  • the Bavarian Forest
  • and the Lüneburg Heath.

Ideally, travelers should plan one or more routes before leaving, which are then followed in small stages each day.

Southern Europe – beach holidays in Portugal

Southern Europe is ideal at many times of the year to spend a holiday in a warm climate and to enjoy a lot of sun. Portugal, for example, is known for its many picturesque beaches. The best known include:

  • Praia do Norte,
  • Praia de Salema,
  • Praia da Marinha
  • as well as the beaches of the Algarve.

These examples also show the diversity of Portuguese beaches.

Located on the Atlantic Ocean near the city of Nazaré, Praia do Norte is known for its high waves, making it a destination for surfers and surfers from all over the world. However, due to the severe conditions on site, only experienced athletes should be on the scoreboard here. Swimming and bathing can also be extremely dangerous.

The Algarve, on the other hand, offers a whole series of beaches that are worth visiting. It is therefore not surprising that this region is very popular with vacationers. Beaches include Praia de Salema, which is located between Sagres and Lagos. This former fishing beach is ideal for families who want to spend a relaxing holiday.

The Praia de Marinha, on the other hand, shines with a picturesque cliff-like setting. It is located near the holiday resort of Carvoeiro and is therefore very popular with tourists.

Latvia – Historical architecture in Riga

Latvia, on the other hand, is located in Eastern Europe. About two million people live in Latvia today. Anyone wishing to experience exciting highlights from the field of architecture in Europe should definitely visit Riga, the capital of Latvia. This place shines with a whole host of unique places.

This includes, among other things, the cat house, which bears his name due to the two cat figures that are placed on the roof. The Kalnciema neighborhood is a neighborhood made up of rather modern and exclusive looking wooden houses, relatively unusual for a European city.

The historic center with its many narrow streets is no less fascinating. Other historic and exciting buildings include the cathedral, the Petrikirche, and the Schwedentor.

There are also a number of vacation options in more remote areas of the world. Above all, travelers can discover here the extraordinary and the new, which often offers a certain contrast to European culture.

Africa – Discover nature in Kenya

One way to do this is to travel to Africa. The nature of this continent in particular offers places such as exotic animals and plants. One of the possible starting points is Kenya.

Vacationers can discover many new things as part of a pre-planned Kenya tour. Such a journey into nature and adventure can take the form of a safari or a tour of the country’s national parks. There are also special offers for families that have been designed with children in mind.

So many Asian countries and all of them offer a fantastic holiday experience especially for people interested in art and a special and unique culture. This includes Japan, among others.

The country is known for its traditional festivals. Parades are held on many of these occasions, with festively decorated floats parading through the cities. Heavy shrines are carried through the streets of Tokyo’s Sanja Matsuri, which takes place every May.

Japanese art is also very well known and appreciated all over the world. Examples of styles include:

There are numerous open-air museums on site, which, among other things, exhibit larger sculptures and similar works of art. Among others, this includes the Hakone Open Air Museum.

Vacationers may be interested in the history of distant parts of the world. In this case, a trip to South America is recommended. Above all, early advanced cultures, such as the Incas, wrote their extraordinary history here several centuries ago and created their own empire, which can still be discovered today from Chile to Argentina.

A particularly exciting starting point is certainly Machu Picchu, located in Peru in the province of Urubamba not far from the town of Aguas Calientes. This historic city, whose ruins are still well preserved, is located in the Andes, that is, in the mountains. It is surrounded by tropical forests. In previous centuries it was one of the most important centers in South America.

Machu Picchu still impresses today with its artistic architecture, modern for the time. It is therefore not surprising that the city has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since the 1980s.

The Machu Picchu temple showed its beauty through terraces and palaces, some of which can still be seen today. But there are also some monuments on site. The citadel with its sun temple is particularly impressive. When visiting the city, it is important to be careful not to leave litter or the like.

The examples show how diverse the possibilities are for an exciting and relaxing journey. Depending on the city or region, very specific and individual interests can be catered for. Vacationers should therefore do a little research before starting their trip, which place is known for which places, conditions or features, and consider which activity is particularly close to your heart.
