About ten days ago I published a report on the first two weeks of one of the blockchain training courses organized by Alyra. Recall that this is a specialized school in the field of blockchain launched in 2018. The training I am currently following is called “Leading an innovative project”, especially intended for future blockchain consultants. The goal of this article is to report the progress of the activities, sharing my feelings. Dive into the heart of weeks 3 and 4 of Alyra’s training.
In the article I published on the first two weeks of training, I told you about Alyra’s famous talks, these couldn’t be more exciting moments of exchange that we have every Monday with personalities or professionals of the cryptosphere. . Weeks 3 and 4 were no exception.
For the week 3 talk, Alyra welcomed Benjamin Coste, Product Owner of The Sandbox, one of the reference projects in the metaverse universe, this unique virtual space, full of promise. Sandbox is a domain provider in the metaverse. Domains in the metaverse are like parcels. They exist as NFTs and can be traded. Property owners can build buildings, games, businesses, recreation spaces, etc. This is to make their investments profitable.
Benjamin Coste told us about the multitude of opportunities that exist along the blockchain value chain, in this case the metaverse. We discussed the characteristics of the metaverse, the modus operandi, the censorship in this virtual world, etc. This session was enriched with a series of questions and answers, which allowed everyone to better understand the concept. The expert closed his presentation by urging everyone to get started.
” Get your hands dirty, take action and try new things. Because what is appreciated today is what you have done. For those who are afraid of taking the wrong direction along the way, remember that blockchain is an openly alleged crash test and most players in the ecosystem have built with this mindset. So be yourself in crash test mode “He said.
In the heart of Algorand
Alyra’s speech for the week of October 17 was led by Alexandre G. Huynh Van, Florian Launay and Stéphane Barroso, all three French-speaking players in the Algorand blockchain. This network strives to build a reliable and easy-to-use space. This is by creating smart contracts that speak to as many people as possible.
The facilitators also took advantage of this session to offer students a guided tour of this ecosystem, which has recently become a FIFA partner for the World Cup which will take place in a few weeks.
What happened in the last two weeks of class?
After studying the concept of value applied to public blockchains, we deepened the study of these. This time, we discussed the reasons why blockchains emerged.
There are two distinct reasons that contributed to the birth of the blockchain:
- The centralization of the internet (which explains the need for decentralization). Here it was a question of explaining that, in its quintessence, the blockchain is part of a rupture logic with the centralized functioning of the Internet, and therefore of the digital economy. To realize this break it will be necessary to understand in a different way the relationship of users with the object, which is trivialized due to its physical reproducibility (copies and counterfeits). Gold, “with the blockchain the relationship with the object is no longer singular, but standardized”. This break must also materialize in the approach to consumption on the Internet, to the notion of property and value.
- The second reason is related to data market, brings together all the problems relating to leaks, hacking, but above all the idea that data is a vital asset for operators in the sector, to the detriment of users. These problems are crucial today. Unfortunately, it has become very easy to find on the dark net private information that should be safe from internet service providers, such as social networks. At this level, the course offers the alternatives provided by the blockchain for more efficient and innovative data management.
Finally, we dived into the spirit and attributes of the blockchain, in this case Bitcoin. Here we discussed to address the genesis of cryptocurrencies, how bitcoin sets the stage for the rest of the ecosystem to flourish. We also touched on the first projects that paved the way for bitcoin. As most of these projects are related to Cypherpunk, we tried to understand why.
At this stage of my trip to Alyra, my opinion remains more or less the same. The training is of high quality and I am learning a lot. The only negative note remains the density of the teachings given: too much information to digest in a very short time!
Indeed, 3 months seems to me definitely insufficient for such training, given that it is intended only for professionals. 5 or 6 months would have been perfect. I hope Alyra’s team see things the same way and maybe spend more time on future promotions.

Far from dulling my enthusiasm, a fruitless investment in a cryptocurrency in 2017 only increased my enthusiasm. I therefore decided to study and understand the blockchain and its multiple uses and to transmit information relating to this ecosystem with my pen.
