Metaverse city (Davos): The World Economic Forum invites itself to the metaverse

The platform is built using Microsoft Mesh, in collaboration with Accenture and Microsoft. The World Economic Forum is developing a metaverse by recreating the city of Davos, Switzerland, its headquarters in the Swiss Alps.

Around 80 different companies, including Meta and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), are participating in this initiative, developed using a more immersive version of Microsoft Teams software called Microsoft Mesh.

The World Economic Forum has invited companies to create virtual showcases and participate in conversations and debates on important current issues to increase engagement in the initiative. The future of public-private cooperation could therefore pass through the creation of the virtual city.

the World Economic Meeting, which is the world’s largest business forum, hopes the metaverse version will establish a year-round online Davos to promote better collaboration between the public and private sectors. In order to collaboratively solve the challenges of the global agenda, the metaverse will impact how individuals, organizations, governments and society as a whole think, act, engage and communicate.

The public-private platforms and face-to-face meetings of the World Economic Forum will be expanded by the Global Collaboration Village, which will provide a more transparent, seamless and global method of interaction.

Efforts have already been made, such as when South Korea’s capital Seoul announced the “Seoul Metaverse,” which could include tax services, youth counseling, and tourist attractions.
