The CES in Las Vegas was held from 5 to 8 January: this exhibition, initially for consumer electronics, has become in recent years the measure of the success of new technologies, as well as hardware. In this regard, the 2023 version of the show gave pride of place to Web 3, with (also in the French delegation) many to boot Metavers e blockchain. While for the first time a section of the Central Hall was dedicated to the Metavers, a dedicated venue was dedicated throughout the duration of the show to a theme called Digital Hollywood : there were presentations related to metaverses, virtual universes, special effects, augmented reality, stream, all related to the world of cinema and entertainment. The media industry in the United States in particular, after three years of war stream and the disruption of online video, is now grappling with intense reflection on its future reinvention through virtual universes and video games, with the lines between the three areas becoming increasingly blurred.

Flat TV companies have revealed many products targeting the Web 3. TV maker LG, for example, has highlighted Blade Wallet, a product for buying and selling NFTs directly from LG Smart TVs, Sansar, a social metaverse for concerts and events inhabit with some of the user-generated content, and a partnership with Oorbit, a metaverse platform for accessing virtual worlds and AI-powered games. LG sees a future where launching a metaverse and its NFTs from its television will be as much of a reflex as turning on Netflix.
On token and other cryptocurrencies, the surprise came from Mastercard, which presented 2023 as the year of its first products in this area, with a first collaboration at CES with the blockchain Polygon to launch a Web 3 accelerator for musicians: NFT, metaverse training, etc.

Also, despite the scandals and bear market in this industry, the use cases of cryptocurrencies and blockchain they were still as numerous as last year, as if economic considerations hadn’t really impacted innovation in the industry.
